Nausea nervousness nightmares sensation of spinning shakiness and unsteady walk uncontrolled eye movements unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination vomiting Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional. I am very underweight and do have chronic diarrhea, but gosh, this seems invasive as a first step in trying to figure out why. Has anyone had chronic diarrhea/weight loss from Plaquenil? I know it can be a temporary side effect for some, but I've been on it for a year. I suspect plaquenil for giving me some episodic diarrhea. I am 100 mg dose and take it with my supper. Did they happen to anyone else and did it eventually stop with the diarrhea side effect? It helps so much with the fatigue and pain. I have a sensitive stomach and perhaps I shouldn't have eaten that salad for lunch yesterday.

Plaquenil is also an antirheumatic medicine and is used to treat symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and discoid or systemic lupus erythematosus. This medicine is not effective against all strains of malaria.

Aug 26, 2016 In summary Plaquenil isn't causing tyour new problems. It probably caused only the nausea, diarrhea, stomach cramps, and intense vertigo. BTW 100 mg daily may reduce side effects, but this low dosage also greatly annihilates its positive effects. 100 mg are a drop maybe two. on a hot stone Apr 21, 2017 I had severe nausea and diarrhea when started on Plaquenil 2 X 200mg tabs once daily almost 3yrs ago. As I also have Crohn's Disease and an Ileostomy this was putting me at serious risk. I was told to stop the Plaquenil until my GI symptoms disappeared. Instead of remaining a shaped piece of poop, the poop spreads out in the toilet bowl water. Very loose stool is called diarrhea. Loose stool can be caused by infections, certain foods or drinks, drug side effects, etc. Other then Crohn's and IBS what can cause diarrhea, nausea, weight loss, stomach pains.

Chloroquine - Wikipedia Chloroquine enters the red blood cell by simple diffusion, inhibiting the parasite cell and digestive vacuole. Chloroquine then becomes protonated to CQ2+, as the digestive vacuole is known to be acidic pH 4.7; chloroquine then cannot leave by diffusion.
